Let’s dive into the first strategy of the “Spring Into Action for a More Organized You!” series and one that will completely shift how you approach your day. One that is foundational to organizational success!

๐๏ธ STRATEGY #1: DAILY PLANNING ๐
Ever feel like you’re constantly running around, putting out fires, yet still not getting everything done? Thatโs where the magic of daily planning comes in to place. Taking just a few minutes each day to map out your tasks and what’s on your mind can be a total game-changer. Think of it as a roadmap to your day — guiding you toward what you want to accomplish and helping you keep on track. Instead of letting time control you, ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ take control of your time.
Do you currently plan out your day?
If not, here are some different ways to get started:
โ
Find a time that works for you
This could be at the end of each day, first thing in the morning — or a mix of both.
โ
Choose your planning tool
Grab your planner, your favourite to-do list app, or even a simple piece of paper in a binder (which is what I do — my own mini version of “Bullet Journaling“) and jot down everything you need to get done. Donโt just list the big stuff — include the smaller tasks too, like โRespond to [nameโs] email”, โSchedule dentist appointment”, or โPick up mail”.
โ
Prioritize your list
What are the most important things that must get done? Use stars, numbers, or different highlight colours to organize priorities. I like using a mix of coloured pencils and various symbols to keep my list visually organized, to quickly identify what is important, and as a bonus this gives me some creative freedom — which I enjoy!
๐ก TIP: Break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
For example, instead of writing โPlan a family vacation,โ break it into:
- Research destinations
- Compare flight prices
- Book a hotel
- Make a packing list
This makes bigger projects feel less overwhelming!
Are you ready to take control of your day and โSpring into Action for a More Organized Youโ with this strategy?๐
If youโre new to daily planning, I encourage you to start today! ๐ Try a planner, an app, or just a simple to-do list — find whatever works best for you as that will encourage you to keep up with it!
I’m excited for you to try this and make an effort to do plan every day. It doesn’t matter much which tool you use to implement this practice — but it is important that you take time for daily planning and find a system that feels natural to you. That way, you will be building upon a habit that will last a life time. โจ
If you already practice daily planning, please share the tools you use and any favourite tips you have below! You just never know who you might inspire. ๐๐
